Tottenham Hotspur are just one of the many clubs who’ve been linked to Napoli star Lorenzo Insigne over the past few years, even though they never seemed very close to signing him.

Last month, it was even claimed by an Italian journalist that Spurs’ new director Fabio Paratici had said that the winger would not be joining the London side this summer.

However, this story is back, with RAI journalist Paolo Paganini brining some news live on Radio Kiss Kiss.

The reporter had updates on several subjects of Napoli’s transfer market, and when speaking of Insigne, he revealed that Tottenham are one of the clubs who made an offer for him.

“Lazio could put a player like Luis Alberto on the plate because they’re unable to meet Napoli’s economic demands,” said Paolo Paganini (via Area Napoli).

“The most important offers have come from abroad, especially from Tottenham. After the Euros, Lorenzo has many new admirers.”

Besides having a great season with Napoli with 19 goals and 11 assists, Insigne was also a starter in Italy’s squad which won the Euros, having finished the tournament with two goals. So it’s no surprise to see a new race for his signing being formed this summer.

He’s currently valued by Transfermarkt at €48m.
