As you might have heard, Liverpool are looking for a midfielder following the departure of Georginio Wijnaldum.
The Dutchman was never replaced during the summer transfer window, and while the Reds did spend money, it went into other areas of the pitch.
That doesn’t mean they aren’t keeping an eye on potential purchases, though, with Wijnaldum’s compatriot Ryan Gravenberch seemingly high on their list.
This comes from Soccernews.nl, who explain, when covering a De Telegraaf article stating that Ajax have contacted Mino Raiola about potentially renewing his contract.
That’s still at an ‘early stage’, though, meaning there’s no guarantees he stays beyond his 2023 deal now, which bigger clubs, like the Anfield side, are aware of.
The Reds are among the clubs interested, it seems, with it said he is ‘closely followed’ by almost every top foreign club, ‘especially Juventus, Liverpool and Manchester United’.
That suggests Jürgen Klopp and co. are actively tracking what Gravenberch is up, potentially with an eye to buy him down the line.
This corroborates claims from April that Liverpool were ‘pursuing’ the Ajax star.
