Three days ago, Gazzetta dello Sport reported Everton are in the picture to sign Napoli’s Jesper Lindstrøm.

The attacking midfielder joined the Serie A side from Eintracht Frankfurt in August 2023 and he struggled in his debut season in Italy. He failed to score a goal or register an assist in 587 minutes of action from 29 games.

Antonio Conte’s side are keen to offload him this summer, and are already working on it. That’s according to Sky Italia, who say several clubs are chasing the 24-year-old and there’s been contacts, ‘especially with Everton’.

The Toffees are the only club named as an interested party. It’s claimed they want to ‘accelerate the transfer’, which is why there were contacts on Wednesday.

It’s likely Everton will have made contact with the Naples club, and this is something that’s reported by Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.

He claims Sean Dyche’s side are looking to sign the player on a loan deal with an option to buy. Everton aren’t the only club keen onthe Dane as other clubs have shown interest in him.

On Tuesday, Il Mattino reported Aston Villa have made a request to sign Lindstrøm this summer.
