If Carlo Ancelotti and Everton were to act on every rumour mentioned in the Italian papers, his squad would be entirely comprised of Serie A players.

Among those, in the centre of midfield, would be Matías Vecino, who was heavily linked with a move to Goodison Park in January, and is likely to be once more in the summer.

That’s because there’s a market in the Premier League out there for the Uruguayan, and Corriere dello Sport it’s ‘especially Everton’ who are willing to do something about it.

He was ‘close to leaving’ last January, suggesting Antonio Conte wouldn’t be too sorry if Vecino was sold, but that would come at a price.

It’s stated he has a value of ‘around €20m’, with such a fee allowing Inter to make their money back on the 28-year-old, having bought him from Fiorentina for close to £22m back in 2017.

Since then, he’s made 94 appearances for the Serie A side, scoring 11 goals and picking up six assists, and it seems Ancelotti likes what he has to offer.

After all, Everton’s midfield is in dire need of a new set of legs, and Vecino would provide just that, as well as some experience, for an affordable fee.
