Bild have a rather interesting claim about Erling Braut Haaland.
The Red Bull Salzburg youngster has been linked with a move for several months, with Manchester United, by quite some way, the club most linked with him.
Haaland worked with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Mole, and the manager has been credited with playing a big part in launching the youngster’s career.
Last month rumours came from Germany of a possible €30m clause in his contract, although the assumption was that may only be available for RB Leipzig.
Bild now report the clause is actually €20m, and covering it from a Borussia Dortmund perspective they insist BVB could sign him for that in January.
It’s not outright claimed to be a club specific clause, they call it ‘favourable’, but it’s not crystal clear whether the insinuation is it’s only applicable to BVB.
After saying it’s ‘favourable’ for Dortmund, they add ‘According to BILD information, the Norwegian can leave Salzburg in January for around 20 million euros.’
That sentence would make it sound general, which would be good news for Manchester United and others.
Last week it was reported in Norway that the Old Trafford club are one of those sending scouts to Salzburg this season, and it’s been claimed in Spain and elsewhere that United have an advantage, largely due to Solskjaer.
