Two months ago, we covered claims from Spain that Newcastle United have offered €15m plus €5m bonuses for Ferrán Torres. Barcelona didn’t entertain this, but the Premier League side are still being linked.
On Monday, claims from England stated that Newcastle are preparing to make an offer for the 24-year-old.
Tuesday’s edition of Sport relays it and then share their own updates about the possibility of the forward joining Newcastle.
It’s claimed Barca are ‘willing to listen to offers’ for Torres and value him at around €30m. His exit would help them improve their financial situation, which is needed to register some of their players.
The former Manchester City man wants to continue at the Camp Nou and has no plans to return to the Premier League.
After claims of Newcastle’s interest in the Spain international emerged, Marca contacted his camp for an update. They found out that he isn’t aware of the interest and doesn’t want to know anything about the possibility of joining Eddie Howe’s side.
It’s further claimed Torres’ entourage denies receiving an offer from Newcastle. If they were to table one in the next few days, the attacker has no plans to join them.
He’s calm because Barca haven’t opened the exit door for him. This contradicts Sport’s claim that they are willing to listen to offers.
To be clear Marca say Ferrán Torres ‘does not want to know’ anything about the Magpies, and: ‘The attacker’s entourage denies having received any proposal, neither official nor unofficial, from Newcastle, as some English media reported yesterday. If it materialises in the next few days, the international has no intention of accepting it.’
At this moment in time, the player has ‘no news from Newcastle’. Even if he does, the Spaniard isn’t willing to leave in this window.
