Manchester United have started a new era under Erik ten Hag and Christian Eriksen was one of the new players to arrive at Old Trafford in the summer window.
The Denmark international joined the Red Devils on a free transfer following his short spell with Brentford in the second half of last season.
Viaplay in Denmark were given a chance to interview the 30-year-old and he opened up about his decision to join Manchester United.
“It is one of the biggest clubs in the world. It was a redemption after what had happened earlier, and like proving that you could get an offer from United. It was great. It’s a huge club I’ve joined,” Eriksen said, as quoted by Bold.dk.
Thomas Frank’s side were among several clubs who were keen on signing the 30-year-old, but he ended up picking Manchester United in the end. The ex-Tottenham Hotspur star has detailed the reason why he picked Ten Hag’s side over other clubs in the last window.
“I had enough [opportunities]. I had enough options to choose from, but it was all about finding the right one,” the Dane explained.
“Of course, Brentford wanted me to stay, but I would say where I am in my career I had the opportunity to step up to what I had dreamed of and hoped for. I wanted to kick-start my career by coming to an even bigger address [club], and I succeeded.”
Manchester United will be delighted the midfielder picked them over other clubs. The Red Devils have won their last four league games and Eriksen has been vital for them in these fixtures.
