Over the past few weeks, multiple reports coming out of Brazil explained Manchester City and their owners, the City Football Group, are interested in Fluminense youngsters Kayky and Metinho.
It was also stated the CFG made offers for the duo, with Kayky expected to join the Citizens, while they plan to send Metinho to another club owned by group.
The young attacker and the midfielder are both 17 years of age and have a contract with the Brazilian side until 2022.
Last week, O Dia suggested Fluminense are having ‘difficulty’ to extend the duo’s contract and therefore, will be forced to accept the City Football Group’s offers for the duo.
According to AS, the owners of the English club are closing in on completing a deal for Kayky and Metinho.
The newspaper also interviewed the latter, where he revealed his ‘biggest idol is Paul Pogba’ and his dream of playing in Europe.
“Yes, the dream of every football player is to one day play in Europe. I would like to play one day in the English, French or Spanish championship,” Metinho told AS.
When categorically asked ‘what does the interest of a team like Manchester City mean to you’, Metinho said: “It has enormous meaning for me and my family because of everything they have been through.”
“Today I play for the team of my heart, Fluminense, and I am realising one of my dreams, which is to defend their jersey.”
“Seeing everything that is happening leaves me very happy because it is the fruit of a lot of work and dedication, I just have to thank God and my parents for always supporting me and being by my side.”
