Omar Colley has been linked with a move away from Sampdoria for much of the summer transfer window, without there seeming to be anything concrete going on for him.

Leeds United and West Ham have been linked at various points, and it’s been a similar case with Brighton & Albion. The Seagulls have been mentioned a few times by the Italian media close to Sampdoria, and that’s the case again today.

ClubDoria46 report that for Colley the ‘English sirens do not stop’, and Brighton is the only club named. According to the report Graham Potter’s side are ‘included in the race’ for the defender, although it’s made clear there’s been no concrete offers for the player yet.

Given there’s nothing concrete, it leads to confusion over how serious this ‘race’ actually is. Should the interest be as widespread as reported then surely Sampdoria would have heard something firm by now.

Colley is a 28-year-old central defender, who only extended his contract earlier this year, and is now tied to the Genoa club until 2025.
