There’s been endless conflicting claims on Axel Disasi in recent weeks and whether Aston Villa want to keep him beyond the end of the season. The 27-year-old arrived at Villa Park at the end of the winter transfer window.
He’d grown a little frustrated with his experience at Chelsea and was eager to regularly play as a central defender. He’d had some joy with Aston Villa, with Foot Mercato pointing out he’s done well when in central defence and had a few issues at right back.
The French website state Unai Emery has been left impressed by Axel Disasi’s ‘mentality and dedication’ and therefore wants Aston Villa to keep him beyond the end of the current season. There’s no indication whether that would be another loan or a permanent transfer this time.
According to the same report there’s also interest from other, albeit unnamed, Premier League clubs. Talks are said to have already started between Aston Villa and the player.
Given the way the article is slanted (it even brings up a MOTM award he won in March against Brentford), it sounds like the information is coming from Disasi’s camp.
