As Italian outlet Calcio Mercato today talks about Juventus interest in signing Bruno Guimarães from Lyon, they get to tell the player’s entire story, from his first steps in Brazil to his success at the Ligue 1 side.
So when speaking of his move to Europe, the website recalls that the French side managed ‘burned’ the competition from Arsenal, when Edu Gaspar was working to sign him.
Now detailing the most recent race for the signing, in which Juventus are hopeful they can have a shot, the Gunners are once again named as one of the competitors.
It’s said Arsenal have ‘concrete’ interest in a deal, along with other Premier League sides, and that of course raises the possibility of an auction for the Lyon player in the coming months.
Juventus are afraid they can’t fight equally for the move, and that’s why they are hopeful of a loan with an option to buy, or even an exchange of players, to find an affordable formula.
Lyon are said to be demanding between €40m and €45m for the midfielder, and besides competition from the Premier League, Arsenal would also need to beat the likes of Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint Germain.
Speaking to the Brazilian media this week, Bruno responded to the rumours which linked him to Arsenal and claimed it’s ‘normal’ to see those stories going around.
