Newcastle United have identified KRC Genk’s Toluwalasé Arokodaré as one of their targets for the summer window, according to Africa Foot.
The Jupiler Pro League club signed the striker from Latvian side Valmiera FC in January 2023, and he has excelled for them.
Arokodaré has managed 37 goals and 12 assists from 101 games, of which 20 goals and seven assists are from this season. Newcastle have taken notice of his impressive performances and have included him in their target list.
Eddie Howe would be leading the Magpies’ pursuit of the 24-year-old. The report states the manager values the 1.97m striker’s profile and has convinced the Premier League club to sign him.
Newcastle would have been convinced as Africa Foot report they have been in talks with Genk for the Nigeria international.
Arokodaré has a contract until 2027, and the report explains the Belgian club are asking for €17m to sanction his sale. They add Genk’s request shouldn’t be a problem for Howe’s side to match in the next window.
It remains to be seen whether the Tyneside club will try to fulfil Eddie Howe’s wish in the summer.
