Independiente vice president Pablo Moyano has ruled out a move for Sergio Aguero when he leaves Manchester City.
The Argentine is set to leave City at the end of the season, with the club recently announcing he would be departing when his contract expires in the summer.
The question is now where he will end up next, with many wondering whether the 32-year-old will continue at the top or take a step down.
At the minute, he’s been linked with several big clubs around Europe, with the likes of Barcelona and PSG both thought to be considering a move.
Another option could be a return to Independiente, the club where he began his career before moving to Atlético Madrid in 2006.
The striker has long discussed his desire to return to his former club, with them even trying to lure him from Manchester City last summer, when Aguero was also linked with an exit.
It seems that won’t be happening, though, at least as far as their vice-president and his son are concerned.
“We are all excited, but we know that the economic conditions in our country make it impossible to bring in a player with the same quality as Kun,” he told Radio 10, relayed by MARCA.
“He is a historic goal scorer for Manchester City, no less. Of course, the president is already communicating.
“Hugo (Moyano) is already calling him, but knowing that it is impossible,” added his son.
“Hopefully, he will take a plane and tomorrow he will be training in Domínico. Every time we wanted to bring him, he scores more goals; that’s why it’s getting more and more complicated for us.”
