Besides all the signings made by Nottingham Forest in the summer window, we continue to find out about more players who the Reds tried to bring in.
Italian outlet Calcio Mercato features a story about Atalanta midfielder Ruslan Malinovskyi. They point out he’s been living a tense relationship with manager Gian Piero Gsaperini and a January move isn’t ruled out.
The player could’ve left the Serie A side in the summer, as a few clubs, including Nottingham Forest, had ‘tried the coup’ to land him before the transfer deadline.
The Reds and the other interested clubs, however, stopped their chase once they got to know how much Atalanta were demanding for the transfer. That was a fee of €50m.
Calcio Mercato doesn’t say how much Nottingham Forest or their competitors were offering for the midfielder. They do make it clear that unless player and manager improve their relationship, a January move is on the table, and there could be a second chance for those who tried him in the summer.
