Just in case you didn’t think the silly season had started, Le10 Sport in France are there to remind you it well and truly has.

We’re not sure how to go about this, because the story is a bit too much for us to handle, but the French magazine suggest that Manchester United are preparing a €500m offer for Neymar.

Now, we say ‘suggest’ because even in their own article (even if there’s a big Manchester United badge on their front cover), they aren’t sure if the Red Devils are the second club they’ve learnt want to spend that much on the Brazilian.

The other one, which you might have already guessed, is Real Madrid, with Florentino Pérez a well known fan of the Paris Saint-Germain star.

Their reasoning behind Manchester United’s inclusion in all this is, of course, the Premier League side’s financial power, but also the fact they’ve tried to sign Neymar in the past multiple times.

Furthermore, this isn’t something that will happen just yet, with Le10 explaining neither of the club’s offers are prepared (and by this we’re assuming they mean planning the post-bid mess and how to circumvent FFP regulations).

If the half a billion euro cheque were to be sent, it wouldn’t be before the summer of 2019.

This, to be honest, is a rather easy story to write, as we’re talking about something that, if it even happens, won’t take place for another year and a half.

If it doesn’t, no one will even remember this story.

Well, we will, because we archive this stuff. That’s what we do.
