On Monday, reports from England claimed José Mourinho is keen on signing Valencia youngster Carlos Soler.

It was claimed Manchester United are confident they could find a deal as the player has a £25m release clause. The story obviously had an impact in the Valencia press, with local newspaper Super Deporte highlighting it.

Super Deporte confirms the player’s release clause, €30m, and although claiming that Manchester United would easily have the resources to make the signing, they make it clear Valencia’s intention is not to sell him at the moment.

Whilst €30m is ‘not a problem’ for Manchester United, Valencia want to make the youngster an important piece of the first team squad, and are aware his contract isn’t valuable enough, so will be upgrading it soon.

As the 20-year-old’s contract is expiring next year, there’s no doubt Valencia will take action regarding his situation in the summer . And as they certainly consider his potential is worth more than £25m, the release clause should go considerably higher.
