How much for Harry Kane this summer?

€100m? No. €150m? Maybe, probably not. €175m? Warmer. €200m? Perhaps worth consideration. €250m? Stop it, now it’s getting indecent.

Well, Catalan newspaper Sport believe none of those figures are enough to prise the striker from Tottenham.

When looking at Antoine Griezmann’s €100m buyout clause and possible move to Barcelona, Sport state: ‘Dybala would cost €150m, Mbappé and Neymar is not known but surely over €250m, Harry Kane would be €300m’

And this is why Kane moving to Real Madrid, or anywhere else for that matter, isn’t really getting off the ground. Sure, everyone in Europe appreciates the player’s talents and many, most, would like him in their team, but just how difficult the transfer would be is no secret.

Pricing him above even Neymar, with all the commercial benefits the Brazilian brings, is very telling.

Tottenham fans may have become frustrated with some of Daniel Levy’s business down the years, perhaps seeing them lose targets because a transfer fee couldn’t be negotiated, but it’s clearly created a fear factor.

When it comes to the club’s stars like Kane, Dele Alli and Chrisitan Eriksen, the difficulty of a transfer acts as a barrier to interest becoming serious.

And that can only be good news ahead of what looks set to be another crazy summer in the European transfer market.
