Despite being mostly great when fit, Mousa Dembélé’s injury issues have been a near constant thorn in Tottenham’s side in recent years.

However, this won’t be a problem for them much longer as the Belgian’s contract is up in the summer, allowing him to choose the club of his choice from this month onwards.

That being said, Tottenham, as a business, would much rather make some money from his departure, which is why a move to China could be considered in January.

HLN explain that Beijing Guoan are ‘waving a lucrative multi-year contract’ in the Belgium international’s face worth around €10m/year, which the player appears to be tempted by.

While the Chinese side have offered the player a deal, there has yet to be any movement from their end regarding a ‘concrete offer’ for his services, which Daniel Levy is waiting for in order to reach an agreement.

Guoan recently freed up on of their ‘foreigner’ squad slots by allowing Jonathan Soriano to join Al-Hilal, presumably to make room for a new arrival such as Mousa Dembélé.
