Fenerbahçe boss Dick Advocaat has told his board he wants 4 new players in the January transfer window, according to Fotomaç.
The Dutch boss believes securing his transfer targets next month should be enough for Fenerbahçe to win the title, despite currently sitting 4th in the table, 7 points behind leaders Medipol Başakşehir.
Fotomaç report one of the prime targets for Advocaat is still Manchester United winger Memphis Depay. The Dutch player has been the one of the main talking points in the Turkish media in recent weeks, and this time Fotomac report on Fenerbahce’s interest.
They claim Fenerbahçe are ‘very close’ to signing Depay on loan, and AC Milan’s Jose Sosa could also arrive if he can be convinced it’s safe to play in Turkey after the recent terrorist attacks.
Fenerbahçe president Aziz Yildirim seems to trust Advocaat’s judgement in the transfer market after Jeremain Lens signing from Sunderland, and he’ll do everything he can in order to secure Depay.
The 22-year old’s future will be decided in the early days of the next window, but Fenerbahce will face competition from Everton and Wolfsburg to land the Manchester United outcast.
Still, there’s optimism in Turkey that a deal isn’t only possible, but also close.
From a Manchester United perspective things are really heating up ahead of the January window. Not only has Ed Woodward got departures to work on, but Benfica defender Victor Lindelof is apparently very much on the agenda.
