Scottish side Dundee United have reportedly started making plans for potential promotion to the Scottish Premiership.
There’s claims from Italy today saying Robbie Neilson’s side are targeting an Argentine striker for the summer window.
Website Calcio Mercato says the club have been following Luciano Nequecaur, who currently plays for Mexican side Oaxaca.
The player will be a free agent in the summer, so Dundee United would have no costs to get him. The signing, however, would be conditioned to the club’s promotion to the Scottish Premiership.
Nequecaur already has some experience in Scottish football, as he played for Stranraer in the 2015/16 season. From there he moved to Nueva Chicago, then to Venados and finally Oaxaca.
The 26-year-old currently has nine goals and two assists in 26 appearances for Oaxaca this season. He’s been enjoying a good scoring record in Mexico, and had 12 goals in 24 games for his previous club Venados.
This sounds like potentially a deal being recommended by an agent, rather than directly from Neilson or Dundee United scouts.
