Last week, Rangers sealed a 3-1 win over Fenerbahçe in the last 16 of the Europa League, thanks to goals from Mohamed Diomande, Cyriel Dessers and Nico Raskin.
The return leg will take place at Ibrox on Thursday and the visitors have a tough task on their hands to progress to the next round.
Earlier today, the Yellow Canaries confirmed the squad to face Barry Ferguson’s Rangers and manager José Mourinho has dumped Allan Saint-Maximin for the trip to Scotland.
The winger turned 28 years of age today and is disappointed to have been left out of the squad on his birthday.
There’s been drama around Saint-Maximin’s omission as he took to Instagram to post a passage from the Bible to share his thoughts on Mourinho’s latest decision. Fener Ajans took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share his post.
“It will take more than that to bring me down…When lies take the elevator, truth takes the stairs; it takes longer but it always arrives in the end. If God is with us, who can be against us? Romans 8:31,” he said.
The former Newcastle United man came off the bench in the second half against Rangers in the first leg and that was his last appearance for Fenerbahçe. The Scottish club are in a good position to make it to the last eight of the Europa League.
Saint-Maximin moved to the Turkish club on loan from Al-Ahli last summer and has managed three goals and four assists from 26 games this season.
