Almost every day there’s a new spin from Spain on Diego Costa and his Chelsea situation, but until that spin is Atletico Madrid paying a reasonable amount the striker is unlikely to get the move he feels is rightfully his.
Marca cover the saga again on Friday, and explain how popular the transfer would be within the Atletico Madrid dressing room.
After Costa left the club to sign for Chelsea, and quickly decided he’d made a mistake, although he’d heavily inflated his bank balance, Atletico set about a plan to sign him back.
Before going through with that plan, several senior figures in the dressing room have been asked their opinion on the situation, and whether they want Costa back at Atletico Madrid.
Now Gabi, Godin and Koke have all been asked publicly, and unsurprisingly they back the idea in public as well as private.
Marca say the Chelsea player would be welcomed at Atletico Madrid ‘with open arms’.
That’s all just great, but, once again, means absolutely nothing for Chelsea.
