Hamburger Morgenpost have labelled Pierre-Michel Lasogga’s brace against Burton Albion part of a ‘dream debut’ for the Leeds United summer signing.
The 25 year old signed for Leeds United just before last week’s deadline, and he’s already started to repay the faith the Championship side put in him.
Reporting on Leeds United’s 5-0 demolition of Burton on Saturday, Hamburger Morgenpost say Lasogga couldn’t even dream about making such a start with Leeds United.
They report the German forward excited the Elland Road faithful, which resulted in a standing ovation when he was substituted in the 62nd minute for fellow summer signing Jay-Roy Grot.
The German newspaper also ask ‘What will Hamburg be thinking?’, following the player’s contribution to Leeds United’s victory yesterday.
Under current Hamburg coach Markus Gisdol, Lagooga always looked surplus to requirements with the Bundesliga side, especially after a major investor at the German club labelled him the “flop of the century”.
However, Lasogga’s two goals coincided with Hamburg failing to score during their 2-0 defeat to RB Leipzig on Friday night, and in the coming months his move to Leeds United may start to be questioned in the German media, if he continues to shine in England.
