PSV Eindhoven star Johan Bakayoko has completely ruled out joining Brentford in the near future, having already turned them down in the summer.
Voetbal Primeur cover comments from the winger today in conversation with Eindhovens Dagblad, after he again impressed for the Dutch side in their clash with Arsenal in the Champions League.
The 20-year-old has been earning a growing reputation over the last 18 months with a series of impressive performances that have continued this season.
That saw him being targeted by Premier League teams in the summer transfer window, in particular Brentford, who were keen to add him to their squad and willing to match PSV’s demands to make it happen.
He’s now reiterated that stance, insisting that he’s more than happy with his choice and believes he can continue to grow at PSV.
“I want to become champion with PSV,” he said.
“That is my dream and what I want to work towards in my plans. I will not deviate from that. Not an inch.
“This is my dream club, where I play now. PSV has always had it in me, that was my feeling from the first contacts with the club. I am someone who likes healthy realism and I have always tasted that here.
“Why shouldn’t I be able to play here longer? Maybe the club would have already wanted to sell me, but I am doing very well here. Here and also with Peter Bosz as a trainer, I am becoming a better footballer.”
