Douglas Luiz agent flies out – Suggestion on agreement in principle with Aston Villa player

The Douglas Luiz claims continue to fly out of Italy, but thankfully the latest batch aren’t attempts to talk his value down by tens of millions.

Earlier claims which were throwing Weston McKennie into the deal tended to overvalue the American and undervalue the Brazilian, and by quite some way.

That Juventus want Luiz and that he may be tempted isn’t in dispute and Il Bianconero say the player’s agent, Kia Joorabchian, is flying out to Italy.

They report Luiz ‘seems to have an agreement in principle’ with the Turin club, so it’s now a case of finding an agreement with Aston Villa.

Joorabchian has taken part in a few negotiations with the Premier League club recently so looks well placed to assist in this negotiation.

Meanwhile, journalist Luca Marchetti has been speaking to TuttoJuve, and Luiz was a topic.

On the player potentially moving to Juventus, he’s quoted as saying: “He is not close but we are trying to get as close as possible. There are positive feelings and it shows how Juventus is continuing to negotiate, the valuation made by Aston Villa close to €60m has been accepted by Juventus.

“If the negotiation goes ahead it means that Juventus is interested, the inclusion of Iling Junior and McKennie demonstrates the willingness to carry out the operation. Then there is the financial fair play calculation to be made with capital gains for Aston Villa and Juventus, plus the €4.5m salary which is equivalent to the sum of the salaries of Iling and McKennie.”

That suggests the two clubs are trying to help each other on capital gains. It’s worth noting the trouble Juventus have got into with regards to this previously.

Multiple officials received long bans, including Fabio Paratici who had moved to Tottenham, after overvaluing players during negotiations so it would look better on their accounts.
