Swansea City could miss out on Udinese defender Thomas Heurtaux after the player confirmed on social media he fractured his jaw yesterday. The Frenchman has been linked with a move to Swansea City in the past few days.
Heurtaux has revealed via his Instagram account that he suffered multiple fractures to his jaw during Udinese 4-0 defeat to AS Roma at the weekend. Heurtaux started the game yesterday, but was replaced after 52 minutes despite his best attempts to continue playing.
The former Caen defender had injury problems last season, and is likely to spend some more time on the sidelines with this latest setback.
Heurtaux’s injury could put a question mark on his proposed move to Swansea City with the transfer deadline just 10 days away. We covered reports at the weekend that Swansea City saw Heurtaux as a possible option to replace the departed Ashley Williams following his recent move to Everton.
The Premier League club have been linked with the 30-year-old in the past, and he would cost them around €4m.
