Dusan Vlahovic has been linked with multiple Premier League clubs, and in the summer it was Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City who got the most links with the Fiorentina player.
Spurs claims were encouraged due to uncertainty with Harry Kane and whether he’d be able to push his way out of the London club. Manchester City’s need was obvious after the departure of Sergio Aguero and their difficulties in negotiating with Tottenham for the England captain.
Vlahovic stayed where he was and has been impressing again this season, clearly not distracted by all the drama surrounding his future choices. With 14 goals and two assists so far this season, the 21-year-old is again attracting widespread attention.
Juventus are the Italian club currently pushing hardest, although La Viola would prefer to sell to anyone else. Tottenham have been linked again, and there’s been repeat claims of Arsenal being ready to pay €80m for the Serbian, despite him not being keen on the Gunners.
Oreste Cinquini, a former Fiorentina sporting director, has spoken to Firenze Viola and doubted whether Vlahovic would work at Spurs, unless they sell their current star striker: “I also hear about Arsenal and Tottenham, but I don’t see how Vlahovic can live with Harry Kane on a tactical level.”
That’s a fair point, however, most of the Tottenham rumours have suggested signing Vlahovic would only be a priority for Antonio Conte’s side if Kane were to leave the club.
