Last month, there were suggestions that Nottingham Forest will move for Juventus’ Douglas Luiz in the summer transfer window.

Since those claims emerged, the midfielder has not played even once for the Italian giants and under new manager Igor Tudor, he was left on the bench in the past two games.

That is a big indication that Douglas Luiz might not have a future at Juventus and Gazzetta dello Sport have looked at his future today. The outlet describes him as a ‘double flop’ for having failed under Thiago Motta as well.

They state that injuries have been a real problem for the Brazilian and they have held back his progress in Turin, where time is now running out for the midfielder.

Nottingham Forest are still interested in Douglas Luiz, who has until the end of the Club World Cup to change the minds of the Bianconeri management. That will require him to be fit for the remainder of the season and beyond.

If he fails at that, his fate will be sealed. While Juve will try to offer the 26-year-old to Newcastle United in an attempt to bring Sandro Tonali to the Old Lady, Nottingham Forest will have a say in the entire situation in the summer.
