Alfie Whiteman came up through the ranks of Tottenham Hotspur’s youth system, but has not managed to make his debut for their senior team so far.

Last summer, the north London club allowed the goalkeeper to join Degerfors IF on a loan deal for the rest of the Swedish 2021 season. The temporary deal expired in December and he returned to the English capital.

The 23-year-old’s agent, Michael Kallbäck, told Fotboll Direkt on Wednesday that his client is in the United States, to join a club there on a loan deal. The representative didn’t reveal more details, but did admit the situation “will be clear in the next few days”.

There seems to be a double development in this case, according to Karlskoga Tidning-Kuriren, relayed by Fotboll Transfers. It’s stated the custodian has ‘signed a new contract’ with Antonio Conte’s side.

It’s further claimed that after he ‘extended his contract’ with the Premier League club, Whiteman will now return to Degerfors IF on a loan deal.

The Swedish side has an agreement with Spurs for taking the player on another loan deal. The outlet even explains Degerfors IF are ‘expected to confirm the signing soon’.

Karlskoga Tidning-Kuriren’s report either contradict claims made by Whiteman’s agent or there has been a new development since Kallbäck made those comments yesterday.
