Besiktas president Fikret Orman has spoken to the Turkish media about Everton striker Cenk Tosun after being linked with their former player in recent weeks.
Orman has spoken to NTV’s football show ‘Futbol Aktüel’ as covered by ASpor: “When Cenk was leaving, he asked me ‘Is the door open for me?’ I said of course. This door will always remain open for him, but I think he has a lot of work to do in the Premier League.”
He added: “He was upset in Turkey when he was subbed off but in England you can see the passion and desire in his eyes when he was subbed in the 70th minute. Everton is a good club but our fans in Europe will multiply their total. Besiktas is a huge club.”
Tosun has struggled to claim a regular starting place under Marco Silva this season leading to claims in Turkey that Besiktas want to loan the forward.
Last month it was claimed the Super Lig club have tabled an offer for the Turkey international as their search for a No.9 continues. In the past 12 months Besiktas have lost Tosun to Everton and also saw the back of Alvaro Negredo during the last transfer window.
