Leeds United have been handed a boost in their attempts to sign NEC star Anthony Limbombe after it emerged Club Brugge could be having doubts over the youngster.
The Belgian champions this week joined the race to sign the 21-year-old, but could be put off by NEC’s valuation of the attacker.
Voetbal Primeur have reported this morning that Brugge aren’t sure about signing Limbombe due to financial reasons, even though they’ve just had a windfall by selling Thomas Meunier to PSG.
NEC want between €2m to €3m for any club interested in signing Limbombe this summer, which is seen as an issue for Brugge.
Brugge are keen to bring in Limbombe to strengthen the squad as they have a chance making the Champions League group stages for next season, but they may now distance themselves from a possible deal as they aren’t even sure about paying €2m.
These latest developments will give Leeds United hope of signing Limbombe after missing out on the Belgian youngster last year. There have been claims in the past 24 hours Limbombe is on the verge of leaving NEC after the Dutch side brought in a replacement, but Leeds United will still face competition from Lille.
