Arsenal defender Konstantinos Mavropanos has insisted he doesn’t know what the future holds for him after his current loan spell.
The Greek defender is currently on loan with Stuttgart, having moved to the German side in the summer when it was made clear there was no place for him at the Emirates.
After a difficult first half of the season, he has since established himself as a key player for the Bundesliga side in the heart of their defence.
They are keen to keep him next season, with the defender having admitted he happily could see himself spending another year away from Arsenal.
The decision is very much in the Gunners hands, though, with it made clear they will need to sanction another loan deal if Mavropanos is to extend his stay in Germany.
That is something he has confirmed, stating that any decision on his future will be left until he meets with Mikel Arteta’s side in the summer.
“I can’t say that at the moment,” he told BILD when asked if he’ll be returning to Arsenal.
“Things can change quickly in football. I still have two months here in Stuttgart and would like to end the season with the team as high up as possible.
“The door at VfB is open for me [to stay another year] – that’s very good, but I can only think specifically about the future when we have talks with Arsenal for the new season.”
