Chelsea are now looking for a new owner after Roman Abramovich announced earlier this week that he is looking to sell the west London club.
The Russian confirmed his ‘decision to sell the club’, but made it clear the sale will ‘not be fast tracked’ and ‘will follow due process’.
British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe has been credited with an interest in buying the Blues. The 69-year-old, who is the chairman and CEO of Ineos Group Ltd, currently owns Ligue 1 side OGC Nice.
The French club host Paris Saint-Germain in a league clash later this week and ahead of the tie between the two sides, Nice director of football Julien Fournier gave an interview to RMC Sport.
Fournier was told out Ineos Group Ltd are reported to be in the mix to buy Chelsea from Abramovich.
Responding to that, he said: “I’m not the Ineos representative but I share a lot of football with them, and I don’t think it’s on the agenda.”
Meanwhile, Swiss billionaire Hansjörg Wyss confirmed he has been offered an opportunity to purchase the Premier League side. Earlier on Friday, Blick reported the 86-year-old is part of the consortium that is confident of buying Chelsea.
