Arsenal midfielder Dani Ceballos has again hinted that he will be returning to Real Madrid next summer.
The Spanish midfielder is currently on loan at the Emirates from Madrid, his second successive loan spell at the club after also spending last year there on a similar deal.
His future at the Bernabeu remains in doubt, with Zinedine Zidane having made it clear that the player was not a part of his plans this summer and the year before.
Ceballos, though, has regularly insisted that he will return and fight for his place at the club, believing the form he has shown at Arsenal demonstrates he is good enough to be a regular for the Spanish giants.
Indeed, he has made it clear on more than one occasion that the chances of him staying at Arsenal long-term are slim.
That’s a sentiment he shared again this week, indicating he will be returning to Madrid once his loan spell is over.
“They don’t have to tell me anything,” he told EFE, relayed by Marca.
“It would be to have a chat with the coach and the coaching staff at the time and know that I will have equal opportunities with the rest of the players.
“From then on, you have to earn it on the pitch. I can tell you about what happened to me at Madrid.
“I don’t know exactly what’s happening with Martin (Odegaard), but it’s obvious that any player who wants to succeed at Madrid is going to grab the opportunity he has.”
