Andreas Pereira started the first two matches for Manchester United this season and his displays for the Old Trafford club were sufficient for him to receive his first Brazil call-up, for two friendlies against the USA and El Salvador.

The 22-year-old was born in Belgium and had the opportunity to play for De Rode Duivels, but he decided to represent the South American nation.

After Seleção failed to impress at the 2018 World Cup, Tite has included a lot of new faces in his squad, which also includes Everton summer signing Richarlison.

Belgian newspaper Het Belang van Limburg mentions the Man United player and they claim he is now in ‘wonderland’ after finding his way to the Brazil squad.

The publication also has comments from Igor de Camargo, who is close to Pereira’s family and the latter’s uncle is his daughter’s godfather. De Camargo heaped praise on Jose Mourinho’s midfielder and explained why he was not surprised with Pereira’s latest feat.

“He deserves it on the basis of his talent. Especially because he has done everything to achieve this. When I heard that he was selected, I was very happy. I sent him a message,” De Camargo said.

“Was I was surprised? No, he is a brilliant footballer. At United and Valencia, he has shown that he has the level. Now he gets the chance to break through. Let us hope that he will do well in the national team and he has a better career than I can.”
