Burnley are set to complete a deal for VfB Stuttgart forward Darko Churlinov after the two sides struck a €5m deal.
That’s according to journalist Florian Plettenburg, who says it’s a ‘done deal’ as there is a ‘total agreement’ between the two sides.
Burnley have been chasing Churlinov since the beginning of this month, with manager Vincent Kompany keen to reinforce his forward line this summer.
The two sides have been negotiating a potential deal for weeks, with Burnley refusing to meet the Bundesliga side’s demands at first.
Kompany wanted him, though, and Plettenburg now reports there is an agreement in place for a deal worth ‘more than €5m’ when bonuses are included.
He states that ‘Kompany is the reason’ that the forward will be moving to Turf Moor, suggesting that the Belgian manager has managed to convince the 22-year-old to join Burnley.
That tallies with the journalist also saying the player is ‘surprisingly’ joining the Championship side, as opposed to Anderlecht.
