Looking at central midfielders following their interest in Jordan Veretout, Napoli have turned their attention to the Premier League, according to CalcioNapoli24.

According to the website, Cristiano Giuntoli, Napoli’s director of football, held a meeting with Jean-Michael Seri’s agent, whose client is currently contracted to Fulham.

Bought from OGC Nice, the Ivory Coast international failed to help the Cottagers avoid relegation back down to the Championship, and after just one year in England he’s looking for a way out.

The encounter between Giuntoli and Seri’s agent is said to have taken place a few days ago, and the tête-à-tête is thought to have been ‘very positive’.

With that first step out of the way, CalcioNapoli24 go on to explain the Serie A club now need to reach an agreement with Fulham themselves.

Whether those negotiations go as smoothly as the ones with the Ivorian’s agent did, that remains to be seen.

This story backs up claims appearing in France on Tuesday that Seri was ‘leaning’ towards a move to Italy.
