Since leaving Napoli at the beginning of December, every man and his dog has had something to say about Carlo Ancelotti’s time at the club.
The Italian was sacked by the Serie A side, despite having led them into the knockout stages of the Champions League, with them miles outside of the title race and the players unhappy with his management.
He’s now at Everton, where it’s fair to say that things are going much better than they were in Italy.
Since his arrival at Goodison Park, the Blues have undergone something of a revival, pushing away from the relegation battle and now looking like they could qualify for Europe.
Still, Ancelotti remains a hot topic in his home country, with anyone who was mildly associated with him before his move to Everton happy to give their opinions.
The latest is the former head of medical staff at Napoli Dr Alfonso De Nicola, who managed to praise and criticise the Everton boss all in one go.
“The difficulty came from a clearly different approach and experience,” he told Il Riformista, relayed by CalcioMercato.it.
“They’d had satisfaction and results in another way and did not listen to my indications.
“My collaboration with Ancelotti has always been excellent, before training, he asked my opinion on everything.
“But I don’t know to what extent he communicated the right things to his collaborators.
“With Mazzarri, Sarri and Benitez they could also hear us on the phone in the evenings.”
