Nottingham Forest have been linked with a move for Belgian winger Alexis Saelemaekers over the past few weeks.

The 25-year-old is on loan at AS Roma from AC Milan and his future remains uncertain.

There have been indications that Saelemaekers prefers to stay at Roma, amidst interest from Nottingham Forest, and more has now emerged about his situation.

Il Messaggero, as relayed by PagineRomaniste, report ‘discussions have been postponed’, when it comes to the Belgium international’s future.

Roma have stopped using him as much as they did earlier in the season and he could soon play his last game for Claudio Ranieri’s side. On top of that, the Giallorossi haven’t made new contact for his permanent signing since January.

As well as Nottingham Forest, there is also interest from Newcastle United and West Ham.

The three clubs haven’t come forward for Saelemaekers but Roma are facing difficulties meeting Milan’s price tag of around €20m to €25m. They have made it clear that they can’y afford to meet that valuation in the summer.

This can hand Premier League clubs an advantage, even if they have to be patient about their move right now.
