Jose Mourinho is ‘doing worse than he did at Tottenham’ at Roma, with fans now turning against him.
That’s according to former Roma striker Antonio Cassano, who says he is ‘not liking anything’ that the Portuguese boss is doing with the Serie A side.
Mourinho arrived at Roma in the summer in a move that was well-received by their fanbase at the time.
He started his return to Italy in fine form, but, like at Tottenham, that quickly fell away, and their performances domestically and in Europe have been disappointing.
They currently sit eighth in the table in Serie A and six points outside of the top four, while they are 15 points behind league leaders AC Milan.
While they have not lost any of their last five league games, they have drawn their last three, with poor displays against the likes of Verona, Sassuolo and Genoa.
They were also comfortably beaten by Inter Milan in the Coppa Italia quarter-final, and fans are not happy with what they are seeing.
One of those is Cassano, who believes Mourinho is somehow doing a worse job than he was doing at Tottenham.
“Roma are doing very badly, a disaster,” Tuttomercatoweb report him saying.
“I love Rome, and I can’t think that the fans are happy with the season. The banner that appeared this morning? I assume it’s some sporadic fans, nothing organised.
“He’s (Mourinho) been doing terribly since that famous 6-1 defeat in Norway. They could have lost on Saturday, but then they made up for it with these two kids.
“In my opinion, they are also messages to the owners. It’s a particular situation, which I don’t like at all. They risk being out of the top seven now.
“Mourinho is doing worse than he did at Tottenham, even from the media point of view, where he was always number one, bad. I’m not liking anything.”
