As Italian outlet Area Napoli features a piece on the future of Tiemoué Bakayoko today, it doesn’t look like the midfielder will stay at the Serie A side after the end of the season.
The website today praises the team’s performance against Milan after their important 1-0 win at San Siro and are now back in the fight for a spot in European competitions.
However, despite the good performance, Area Napoli points out that Bakayoko didn’t have as good of a good game as the rest of the squad.
They say that despite a good start of season, the midfielder has been full of ups and downs and has been ‘very disappointing’ lately.
This means Napoli are unlikely to go for his permanent signing at the end of the season, as they recall there’s no buying clause in the contract, although previous rumours did mention a gentleman’s agreement between the clubs for a €18m fee.
That amount is now seen as too much given Bakayoko’s recent form, and that makes it ‘more likely’ that he’ll be back at Chelsea in the summer.
