AC Milan’s Divock Origi was on loan at Nottingham Forest last season.
The 29-year-old returned to the Serie A side in the summer, after a disappointing spell at Nottingham Forest.
Gazzetta dello Sport state the striker has ‘disappeared from the radar’ as Milan have left him out of their plans.
The Belgian spent eight years at Liverpool and moved to the San Siro on a free transfer in 2022. He wasn’t able to impress with the Rossoneri in his debut season.
Origi returned to England when Nottingham Forest signed him on loan in 2023. He clocked in 600 minutes from 20 league games, managing only one assist in the process. His only goal for the Reds came in their FA Cup win over Bristol City.
Milan failed in their efforts to get rid of him in the last window. He’s no longer part of the first team and the report states the former Liverpool man is training alone, in agreement with the club.
It’s claimed Origi was seen working with a trainer away from Milan, in Florence and Rome. He’s almost turned into a tourist, travelling across the country. He has to stay in Italy for more than half the year in order to enjoy the tax benefits he moved there for in the first place.
Gazzetta state the player, whose last official outing came with Nottingham Forest in April, earns €4m per year at Milan. He may have to take a pay cut to find a new club in January.
Origi has to decide whether to revive his career at another club in January or not play at Milan and collect €4m per year until 2026 whilst travelling around Italian cities and taking in the sights. From a sporting point of view, it has been a disaster for him since leaving Nottingham Forest.
