According to a claim in the Greek media, Panathinaikos are interested in signing Celtic midfielder Kouassi Eboue.
Yesterday we covered reports from Greece that Pana’s sporting director Nikos Dabizas is planning a meeting with Newcastle United about the possibility of loaning players from the Premier League side.
Greek website Sdna.Gr claims Dabizas also has an appointment with Celtic and that Eboue will be on the agenda during these discussions.
Sdna haven’t given any indication whether Pana want a loan or a permanent transfer for the Celtic player, but it seems Dabizas is keen to bring in the 22 year old before next month’s transfer deadline.
Celtic paid €3.5m to Krasnodar to sign Eboue in 2016 but he hasn’t been able to establish himself as a regular for the Scottish Premiership champions. Subsequently the Ivorian could exit Celtic Park this summer, with Panathinaikos seemingly an option for the youngster.
He played just 5 games for Celtic last season in all competitions and is under contract with the club until June 2021.
