Wolfsburg sporting director Olaf Rebbe believes Anton Donkor’s move to Everton will be good for the youngster. It was announced today Donkor will join Everton on loan for the rest of the season.

In a statement released on Wolfsburg’s official site, Rebbe said Donkor’s move to Everton will give the 19 year old experience of playing in a different league. Rebbe said Donkor now has a chance to prove himself and that they will monitor his progression whilst with the Premier League side.

“For Anton, the loan move is a great chance to prove himself in a new environment and to gather more experience. We will be closely following his development over the coming months,” said Olaf Rebbe.

Only yesterday we covered reports of Everton’s interest in Donkor after the German U20 international was initially linked with a move to Aston Villa. The young midfielder has recently spoken of his desire to play in England after being told by Wolfsburg he wouldn’t figure with their first team this season.

Donkor can play anywhere across the midfield and could be useful squad member for Ronald Koeman.
