The sporting director of Stuttgart has confirmed no offers have yet to come in for midfielder Alexandru Maxim. The Romania international has been linked with Leeds United and Club America in this transfer window.
Stuttgarter Nachrichten have reported on Club America joining the race to sign Maxim after the Mexican club recently missed out on other targets. Maxim is now on the shortlist for Club America with claims they are in talks to sign the player.
However, Jan Schindelmeiser has played down this speculation after he informed the German media no offer has come in from any clubs yet.
“We’ve had no requests for Alexandru Maxim,” said the Stuttgart chief.
Yesterday we covered reports from Germany and Mexico that Leeds United faced a fight to land Maxim following the interest from Club America.
Leeds United earlier in the month held initial talks with Maxim’s agent over a possible move to England, which he confirmed to the German press.
Leeds United have been monitoring the situation with Maxim at Stuttgart where he’s struggled to get playing time this season.
