There’s been so many rumours about Kalidou Koulibaly in recent windows that it’s often hard to take claims seriously.
Manchester United were linked with the defender for over a year, and it felt like Napoli were sending out claims of offers, as high as €100m, to try and hype their player.
Then it was Liverpool’s turn to be linked, and now it’s Manchester City who find themselves in the middle of the story.
For some weeks there’s been claims of negotiations between the Premier League club and Napoli, with the latter needing to bring in funds this summer.
Now Gazzetta dello Sport reports the Serie A club’s sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli is ready to ‘sit down at the table’ and ‘close’ the sales of Allan to Everton and Koulibaly to Manchester City.
Both players have their ‘suitcases ready’ and the imminency of the moves is talked up, yet there’s not really any key details.
Should Manchester City interest be as serious as presented then developments will surely be expected over the next week or so.
