Real Valladolid sporting director Miguel Angel Gomez has told the Spanish media Toni Villa must show he wants to play for the club. The 22 year old has been linked with a move away from the Spanish side this summer, with Leeds United one of the clubs interested.

Speaking to Eldesmarque, Gomez was asked about the situation with the Leeds United and Cultural Leonesa target: “When a young man has a season of success he is very impressionable and at this time he needs to be mature. You have to stay one step ahead. He has to show that he wants to wear the Real Valladolid shirt. We are not the second choice of anyone.”

Earlier this week Le Noticias claimed Leeds United are showing an interest in Villa, and could move in for the player this window.

The Spanish newspaper claim Leeds United have approached Real Valladolid with regards to signing Villa, and even though they want to avoid paying his €4.5m termination fee, they could still be open to going to the full amount.

The youngster has also been linked with a move back to Cultural Leonesa, where he had great success last season, before Real Valladolid activated their buy back clause on the player.
