Mohamed Elneny’s father Nasser Elneny this week said his son could join AC Milan, but his claims have been quickly denied by Besiktas sporting director Ali Naibi.
Speaking about the Egyptian midfielder to Ntv spor, Naibi said Elneny will definitely stay at Besiktas until the end of the season: “There is no clause in his contract for leaving in January. We agreed on a season-long loan deal with Arsenal.
“I don’t know why his father said these things, but I can confirm that he will stay at the club until the end of the season.”
The 27 year old has been linked with a move to AC Milan in recent weeks after impressing for the Super Lig side since his loan from Arsenal in the summer.
Elneny has been a key player for Besiktas in their climb up the league table and the club’s manager Abdullah Avci is a big fan of the player. With the Istanbul side in the mix for the league title they’ll want to keep him at least until the end of the season.
His future at Arsenal looks uncertain and he’ll need to make a decision in the summer over where he’ll be playing next season.
Elneny has made 17 appearances for Besiktas in all competitions this season.
