Greek website Sdna.gr report Panathinaikos sporting director Nikos Dabizas is looking to finalise a deal to sign Ilias Chatzitheodoridis from Brentford.
Yesterday we covered reports from Greece that the young fullback is a target for the Greek club, as they are looking at cheaper options in this transfer window.
Sdna say Dabizas has already met with Brentford officials, and the player’s agent with regards to signing the fullback. It’s reported that Pana are looking to offer a loan deal to Brentford, with an option to buy. Talks will now continue between the two clubs.
The 20-year old left back was an unused substitute during Watford U23’s 4-1 win against Brentford B yesterday, and Sdna said this could be an indication a transfer deal is close to being completed.
It’s also claimed the former Arsenal man is keen on continuing his career in Greece, and is positive about a move to Panathinaikos.
The youngster has just under 12 months left on his contract with Brentford.
