Enzo Le Fee returned to action for Sunderland in recent weeks and when available has been an important part of the team this season.

The Black Cats will play in the Championship play-offs in a week’s time and all of this can determine the Frenchman’s future, as he is currently on loan from Roma.

Promotion to the Premier League will trigger Sunderland’s obligation to buy Le Fee permanently and it seems as if Roma are now considering potential ‘alternative scenarios’ to the situation.

Corriere dello Sport, as relayed by RomaGiallorossa, have reported that the Italian giants are keeping an close eye on the Championship play-offs.

While they are keen on seeing Sunderland earn promotion because they will be able to earn a significant amount from Le Fee’s sale, they are now assessing the market to find other solutions, if Regis Le Bris’ side end up staying in the Championship.

Roma had initially paid a fee of €23m to land the midfielder from Rennes and they want to make sure that they do not make a loss from the deal and are trying their best to earn a profit.

So far this season for Sunderland, Le Fee has shown his quality multiple times but had his progress hindered by an injury earlier in the campaign.
